Do you have a money-back guarantee?

All MyHost accounts come with a 30 day money-back guarantee as standard. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days and wish to cancel, we'll gladly refund the full amount to you.

Do your prices include GST?

Due to market pressure our prices all exclude GST, unless otherwise stated.

Are there any additional fees?

We very strongly believe in providing a transparent service, with no hidden fees. Some hosting companies charge a range of fees for their services, including "Domain Hosting" and per email address charges. With MyHost, what you see is what you get. One simple hosting fee - annually or monthly.

Is there a minimum term or contract period?

Not at all. We do offer a discount to clients who pre-pay their hosting annually, but there's no minimum term - you're free to cancel at any time and request a refund for the remainder.

How long will it take to set up my account?

We always do our best to set new accounts up as quickly as possible, however we can only do so once full payment is received. For direct-credit payment this may mean two working days, while credit card orders will often be set up within a few hours.

Orders placed outside our regular business hours will be processed as soon as possible the following day.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept two payment methods: Credit Card (Visa / Mastercard), or Direct Credit into our bank account.


When will I be billed?

It is our standard practice to firstly bill on signup, and subsequently on your anniversary date - monthly, or annually depending on what billing frequency you've ordered. All recurring charges take place automatically, and we charge in advance.

If you ordered using a credit card, your card will be charged automatically and an invoice sent on the date of every anniversary. Direct Credit payments are also invoiced on your anniversary date, with 7 days to pay.

Do you offer broadband internet access?

We do not provide internet access. You will need an internet connection to connect to your MyHost-hosted website and email.

Do your servers support ASP?

While there are solutions that allow ASP web pages to run on a Linux server, they are far less effective than ASP on Windows.

Because MyHost only offer Linux-based web hosting, we do not provide any form of ASP support and you will not be able to use ASP code with our hosting service. The closest alternative we offer is PHP.

How do I move my site / domain to MyHost?

To move your existing domain name or website to MyHost, simply complete our online order form and we'll be happy to help you through the next phase of the move.

To move an existing domain name to new hosting, you generally have two options:

1) You can leave the domain name registered with the current registrar and simply change the nameserver or 'DNS' information for the domain name to point it to your new hosting account.

2) Transfer the domain name to our registration service and we'll take care of the pointing for you.

Our order form allows you to choose from these options, and we'll then provide any further information you need with our introductory email. Of course we're always happy to answer any questions you have about the process.

Can I access my site without the "www"?

Yes, your website visitors can view your site with or without the "www" in front of the domain name - i.e. =

Step by step guide to getting hosted

Step One: The domain name.
In order to use our hosting service, you will need a domain name (such as ""). The good news is that we can register a domain name for you.

Domain registration and web hosting are two separate services and in most cases, you can have your domain name and web hosting provided by different companies. If it suits you, we can provide both, but that's not a necessity. You are welcome to register your domain name elsewhere to use with our hosting.

Step Two: Select your hosting.
Once you've chosen or registered your domain name, you need to choose which of our hosting plans and payment methods suit you. We currently take monthly or annual payments, and we accept MasterCard, Visa, or Direct Credit options.

Step Three: Place your order!
To get your site online, simply use our secure order form and we'll email you the relevant login information as soon as possible once payment is received.

Where are your servers housed?

MyHost customers accounts are hosted on servers housed within the ICONZ data centre in Auckland, New Zealand. For more information on the network and hardware, please see our Network page.

Please note: For the purposes of redundancy, the MyHost website may be housed in a different location to our customer servers. Connection speeds and ping times for our company website are therefore not representative of those for our hosting product.

What is web hosting?

The 'world wide web' (aka "www") is made up of a network of computers across the world. Every website you view, including this one, is stored on one (or more) of these computers, also known as "web servers".

If you have a website, or are planning to have a website in the future, you will need to have it hosted on a web server. Doing so allows your site to be available 24 hours a day on the internet, almost anywhere in the world.

How long has MyHost been around?

MyHost has been hosting websites since 2000. See the About Us page for further information.

Is MyHost a reseller?

Unlike many smaller hosting companies, MyHost is not a reseller. We have a lease arrangement in place for all of our web servers, and we deal directly with the people who provision and maintain the server hardware.

No, we do not require our customers to place any advertising or banners on their website.
