Passing on higher prices for .com & other domains, cPanel, CloudLinux

Another round of end-of-year price hikes from our suppliers means that we’re sadly raising what we charge for cPanel, CloudLinux, and a selection of domains. Sorry.

When you’re in business it’s important to have reliable suppliers. Unfortunately, some of our suppliers are incredibly dependable when it comes to putting their prices up at this time of year. Today we’re announcing new prices for cPanel and CloudLinux licences, and for a range of non-NZ and non-AU domains.

We understand how unwelcome this news will be, especially since 2024 has not been the easiest year for anyone’s wallet. Our aim with our new prices is to only pass on wholesale increases (never a perfect science when there are ever-moving exchange rates involved). Even so, we're sorry.

New domain prices from 19 December 2024

Update, 4 December: We have changed the effective date of these new prices to ensure that there's no disruption to our systems or team during the end-of-year break. The new date is 19 December 2024.

There is no change to .nz, .au, or .org domain prices. The changes that will affect most MyHost customers are:

  • .com $29.95 (was $27.95).
  • .net $36 (was $33).
  • .info $63 (was $55).
  • .co $96 (was $80 - note that premium pricing applies to some .co domains).
  • .us $29.95 (was $25.95).
  • .cn $36.95 (was $34.95).
  • .co.uk, .me.uk, .org.uk (two years) $54.90 (were $51.90).

Prices for some other niche domains (including .tv, .travel, and .global) are also going up. You can browse prices for all 50+ TLDs that we offer in our webstore.

Things are changing when it comes to .com prices and regulation, but this is another round of the “annual squeeze” that we received in 2023.

Beat price rises: Register or renew domains now

Any domains that you register or renew before December 19 will lock in today’s price for as long as you choose. It’s never too early to renew domains, especially when a price rise is coming up fast.

Predictable cPanel price rises strike for the sixth year in a row

This only affects customers who pay us directly for the cPanel licences listed below. It does not affect the price of our Web Hosting (or WordPress Hosting) packages that let you use cPanel to manage your hosting and servers.

If you do pay a cPanel licence fee, you’re probably used to this yearly news. Last year we lamented a fifth consecutive year of cPanel price rises, and as far back as 2021 it was clear that cPanel price rises will keep coming. The reason is always the same. WebPros, the owners of cPanel, know that it’s a very hard product to move away from and they are gradually seeing how much people are willing to pay.

Although WebPros don’t own CloudLinux like they own cPanel, they are our main supplier of CloudLinux licences (which come bundled with cPanel). That’s why CloudLinux is also in the table below.

Product Accounts Old Price New Price
cPanel Solo 1 $35 $65
cPanel Admin Cloud Up to 5 $65 $70
cPanel Pro Cloud Up to 30 $95 $105
cPanel Plus Cloud Up to 50 $130 $135
cPanel Premier Cloud Up to 100 $170 $175
Extra Sites 100+ $1 $1.20
CloudLinux $37 $38

Looking for the exit?

After six straight years of cPanel price hikes with no end in sight, it’s fair to ask what other options you might have. The best answer depends on factors like how many sites you manage and how you like user access to work. Whether you want to move ASAP or just have a plan in your back pocket, we are here to listen and then suggest a path off cPanel. Just get in touch when you’re ready.

Why do people love MyHost?

The support is the best bit and we get the feeling that you are striving to improve your offering in both hardware and support. It is good to know that hardware is being maintained and managed, and if we need any support when issues arise, your team is there to help.

Fantastic support with hosting, and just a fantastic knowledge base overall. I was let down by Crazy Domains, nothing worked. MyHost transferred the domain and everything worked as expected instantly. I made a mistake and the site went down, but within 30 minutes MyHost reverted my changes and saved the day. ★★★★★

I've ran my own business for 8 years. Finally getting a website sorted. I'm a new user of the service and to date I've had great support and been able to talk one on one with someone who navigates me through set up. Better than a chat bot any day. ★★★★★
